
Can my family come visit me? When can they come visit me?
Visitors are welcome from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm., Sunday through Thursday except during dinner hour, house meetings, and support group meetings. Visitors are welcome from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm on Friday and Saturday except during support group meetings. Residents and guests may not sit outside after 9:00 pm. Visitors are welcome to stay up to two hours on any given day. 

What do I need to bring?
Residents may bring their own personal care products. However, due to limited storage space, it is recommended that women bring just the basics. Residents are required to do their own laundry, so residents are advised to bring laundry soap and any other laundry supplies if they have access to these items. 

Can I participate in your program if I am on home detention?
Yes. Homeless women who have been placed on home detention may be placed at Hope House. 

Does the Hope House Program provide detox services?
No, a potential resident must detox prior to arrival at Hope House. In order to be admitted, a person cannot be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. 

Can I come to Hope House if I am pregnant?
The admission of a pregnant woman is dependent on her medical needs and will therefore be considered on a case-by-case basis. Referrals to other appropriate programs may be made. 

Will I have a curfew?
Yes, curfews are enforced. A resident's curfew depends on their level of achievement in the program and are as follows:
Probation: Weeknights (Sun.-Thurs.) 9:00 pm; Weekend (Fri. and Sat.) 9:30 pm. Level I: Weeknights (Sun.-Thurs.) 9:30 pm; Weekend (Fri. and Sat.) 10:00 pm. Level II: Weeknights (Sun.-Thurs.) 10:00 pm; Weekend (Fri. and Sat.) 10:30 pm. Level III: Weeknights (Sun.-Thurs.) 10:30 pm,Weekend (Fri. and Sat.) 11:00 pm. Level IV: Same as Level III. 

Are pets allowed?
Residents of Hope House and Martha's Place are not allowed to have pets. 

Do I have to get a job?
Residents are expected to secure employment within a reasonable amount of time after their arrival at Hope House. Staff guidance is provided on a daily basis until employment is found. Assistance with job searching, creating a resume, applying for jobs, and interviewing skills is available. All residents must work first-shift jobs, leaving evening hours open for mandatory meetings. Residents may not work anywhere where alcohol is served. No exceptions are made. 

Should I bring my cell phone?
No cell phones are allowed. Residents have access to a telephone for resident use only and may use that phone as needed. However, there are time limits for how long a person can use the phone. You must have a calling card to make long distance calls. 

Can I have a car?
Residents may have a car once they are on Level 1. You must show proof of insurance and title, and have a good pattern of following the program rules in order to have this privilege. 

Can I bring my prescription medications?
All prescriptions must be approved by staff. There are some medications resdients at Hope House are not allowed to take, especially narcotic or habit-forming drugs. If approved, your prescriptions are kept locked in the case manager's office. You come to the office to take your medications. You can't keep them with you, but the staff will always give them to you so you can take them as prescribed. 

Can my family visit?
Families are welcome to visit as your schedule allows. Visits are for no longer than two hours, and can not be during the dinner hour. 

What is the cost of the program?
There is a $25.00 admission fee and $10.00 per month for telephone and usage costs. Hope House does not charge rent until a woman is employed, at which point she pays 30% of her gross income. If she has to pay child support or certain other fees, those are deducted from her gross income before rent is calculated. 

How long does the program last?
The program lasts 6 months in most cases, but each woman progresses through the levels at her individual pace. The minimum length of stay is 4 months and the maximum is two years.
